"A drop of Nelson's blood"

The film includes an original score, created by renowned songwriter and musician JC Grimshaw.

A modern re-working of the historic sea shanty 'A drop of Nelson's blood' fitted the film perfectly., both musically and it's local proximityThe shanty is based on the tale that when Nelson died he was preserved on board ship in a barrel of rum. When they retrieved his body at the port the barrel was empty. The crew had drilled a hole and drunk the barrel dry.

'Where do we go from here' is inspired by the sea shanty tradition and local folk sound.  Recordings of the score will be posted once complete.

Where do we go from here? (lyrics)

There's trouble brewing out at sea
“ Where do we go, where do we go “
Heading straight towards you and me
“ Where do we go from here “

When the waves start crashing and waters rise
They'll be no soul left to hear your cries

CHORUS

Where do we go, where do we go
The sea is black, no turning back
When the shadows grow, strange waters flow

There's a watery grave beneath the deep
You can lay to rest, but you'll never sleep

There's pretty maids all in a row
Who will sell your soul to Davey Jones

CHORUS

When all your prayers have turned forlorn
You will curse the day you were ever born

A drop of Nelson's blood (new lyrics)

Well a drop 'a Nelson's blood wouldn't do us any harm
(And a drop 'a Nelson's blood wouldn't do us any harm)
And a drop 'a Nelson's blood wouldn't do us any harm
And we'll all hang on behind

CHORUS

Come on and
Roll the old chariot along
(Yes, we'll) roll the old chariot along
(Come on and) roll the old chariot along
And we'll all hang on behind

And another drop of rum wouldn't do us any harm
(And another drop of rum wouldn't do us any harm)
And another drop of rum wouldn't do us any harm
And we'll all hang on behind

CHORUS

Come on and
Roll the old chariot along
(Yes, we'll) roll the old chariot along
(Come on and) roll the old chariot along
And we'll all hang on behind
