PROJECT NEWS

WORKING WITH MUSICIAN DAVID COFFIN

Right at the start of this project we found a YouTube video of David singing 'Roll the Old Chariot,' and his powerful baritone voice was such an inspiration. Something about this performance was so raw and authentic. We are so delighted that he has now agreed to be part of our film. Based in New England, David is a musician, educator and performer, specialising in the traditional folk sound of maritime shanties and ballads. Read more about him at  David Coffin - David Coffin

FILMING IN VENTNOR

The film is in the can! This week we completed filming on location in Ventnor, Isle of Wight. Tues 22nd we were down in the tunnels beneath the Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Then Thurs 24th we were shooting at Ventnor Arts Club, which was made up as the interior of the fort.

Thanks to everyone for an amazing week.

TABLE READ OF SCRIPT

We have now had our first table read with our amazing cast. The Director and Mark, Bryony, Yinka and Lydia met in a west London rehearsal space while Tim and the Producer connected via Zoom.

DRONE FILMING AT SPITBANK

We took to the waves this week to get some drone shots of the fort, and establishing shots of the boat arriving at the venue. As the winds picked up it took some skilled drone operating by Kevin, and a few loops around in the boat before it was retrieved safely by Andy our Director!

FILMING ON SPITBANK FORT

It's official, we will now be filming for half a day on Spitbank Fort in the Solent! We can't wait to get a feel of these unique buildings and get some establishing shots. We will also get a drone shot for our opening sequence.

A huge thank-you to the Owner and Fort Operations Manager for allowing us to film here.

FILMWIGHT

We have been working with FilmWight, (www.filmwight.com) the Island's Film office which is supported by the Council and Arts Council. They have helped us connect with local crews, arrange transport and logistics of the shoot. There is talk of an official visit by the BFI on 24th June on set, so we are hopeful this will go ahead!
